Adventures of the Rat Family

Originally published in French in 1893 as Aventures de la famille Raton, this beautiful book with the original illustrations by Felician Myrbach-Rheinfeld belongs in the library of every sci-fi, fantasy or rat lover. My rats and I read it in one sitting!

Ratkin
A Sourcebook for Werewolf: The Apocalypse (Changing Breed Book 5)

by Brian Campbell

Paperback, 144 pages
Published by White Wolf
Publication date: September 1999

Ratkin

"For ages, they've waited in the shadows, beady eyes and high chittering the only signs of their presence...."  Finally, an entire book dedicated to playing a wererat! This book was fascinating enough to get me to dust off my copy of Werewolf: the Apocalypse. I was happy to see that it was written by someone who lives with a rat of his own (and you can see her influence in his writing!). I recommend grabbing a copy of Ratkin and playing one of the Children of Rat.

Caring for Rats
The newer rat books have better, more accurate information on health and care of rats (especially concerning the hazards of cedar and pine bedding); all have wonderful pictures.

RPG Writer's "Must Haves"
These are all "must haves" for Science Fiction writers, and are also a good roleplaying aide for designing your own campaign worlds/universes.

Works of H.P. Lovecraft
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." -- HPL

Dungeons and Dragons / d20 System
Selected books from the new 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons, plus other books that are compatible with their new d20 system.

Alternity: Science Fiction Roleplaying Game
While it's easy enough to find good reviews on this campaign setting (and it is a good game!), it has been difficult for me to get the supplements as they came out (frankly, it's just hard to look them up on the larger book store sites!). Here's the complete line available for the "generic" Alternity system as well as the Star*Drive, Dark·Matter and Gamma World campaign settings.
